Announcing the opening of a brand new drama class starting in September 2010 in Twickenham. Performance Academy London was formed in 2009 by Robert Wells and Simon Williams who work at The Tabard Theatre in Chiswick and The Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond running workshops. Their love of theatre and the arts has inspired them to encourage a new generation of performers.
Classes will initially be designed for children aged 8-12 years old with the prospect of more opening in the near future. Free trial sessions for the classes will be run on the Saturday 9th August from 11-1. To book a place on the trial session please contact us via the methods displayed below.
The classes provide a great opportunity for your child to develop their speaking and listening skills, as well as, improving their self-confidence and self-esteem. The classes provide a fun and safe environment for your child to make new friends and develop their dramatic abilities. Kingston WelCare is a project working to support all families in the local community. WelCare offers parents a wide range of activities to enjoy with their children as well as offering support, advice and information.
A wide range of activities are available to parents every week and during school holidays.  Examples of some of the activities at WelCare are messy play sessions,  a grandparents group, story-time sessions and a weekly lunch club where parents can come along to meet other parents.  There is also a weekly duty advice session on Monday mornings between 9.30-12.30 where parents can drop in for parental help or advice.  During school holidays there is a holiday programme at WelCare offering parents a wide range of lots of fun activities such as art and craft, cooking, various trips to parks, zoos, cinema to enjoy with their children.  Activities are subsidised to reduce the financial burden many families face at holiday time.  We have more than one activity per day and some will be organised for specific age groups.  The holiday programme runs for 8 weeks of Kingston’s school holidays.
There are Parent Support Workers at WelCare to help parents with their children, also to help parents whose children have been excluded from school, support for families whose relatives are in custody and also a service for parents who find it challenging and need help with the admission process for secondary schools.  WelCare also run parent workshops at various times throughout the year for parents seeking to enhance their parenting skills.
