'Magic
in the Nursery' to

'Magic
in the Nursery' is the latest exhibition from Kingston Museum and
features the work of Victorian children's book illustrators Kate
Greenaway, Randolph Caldecott and Walter Crane. The exhibition
will be accompanied by rhyme-time and sing-along panels, as well
as musical instruments, a reading corner and lots of other fun activities
for children and parents to share. Be sure too not to miss
the 'giant' spider, teapot and blackbirds in a pie!
'Magic in the Nursery' is also a lovely exhibition to visit if you are interested
in illustration or the Victorian era.

Carnival Sunday 2 September |
There
will be dancing in the streets on Sunday 2 September when Kingston Carnival comes to town!
Kingston carnival will once again be bringing the vibrant sounds,
sights and colours of the Caribbean to the streets of Kingston.
Organised by Kingston Racial Equality Council, the Carnival kicks
off at noon with a colourful parade and will continue with an exciting
line-up of music and dance from around the world. |

The
ASICS Kingston Running Festival is an endurance running event covering
the distances of 16 miles or 8.2 miles. The scenic run loop is
extremely flat and takes place in Kingston, Surrey. The route follows
the Thames Towpath, taking in Hampton Court Palace and Thames Ditton
before returning to Kingston Town Centre.The 16 mile distance is
perfect for those preparing for the New York Marathon some three
weeks later. There will be accurate mile markers on a very flat
course which is ideal for pace judgement for your big day.The race
is based in the heart of Kingston Town Centre starting and finishing
in the Ancient Market Place.
