CALLING ALL BANDS - O’NEILL’S LAUNCHES NEW LIVE MUSIC INITIATIVE

O’Neill’s in Kingston upon Thames is calling on local bands to sign up to an exciting new live music initiative that could result in the chance to play at O’Neill’s music venues across the UK and a prize of £2,000 worth of music equipment.
Bands interested in playing at O’Neill’s – whether at their local pub or other pubs across the UK – should register at www.oneills.co.uk/bandregistration. Once registered, the information provided forms a band profile that enables O’Neill’s managers to review, rate and approve that band. Those successful then go on to the O’Neill’s national music roster, the O’Neill’s Playlist.
The Playlist – launched last month – is part of O'Neill's continued commitment to live music and not only gives bands a chance to promote themselves to all 62 O'Neill's managers but also, if interested, the chance to be put forward for a series of regional showcases with a final prize of £2,000 of music equipment courtesy of leading UK distributors Rosetti.
“O'Neill's is passionate about live music and, whether you’re looking for your first ever gig, or for regular bookings at a credible music pub, registering to get on the O'Neill's Playlist provides you with a unique chance to make your band visible to both decision makers in the pubs and, if successful, to the general public,” explains Sarah Taylor, senior marketing manager at O’Neill’s.
Michael Pearson, manager of O’Neill’s Kingston, adds: “We’re looking for a broad range of musicians – from cover bands to one-man bands to guitarists and fiddle players – and I know there are some fantastic acts in and around Surrey, so I urge local bands to sign up and be part of this great initiative.”

The Accendo Singers are Kingston's newset chamber choir, conducted and led by Adam Assen. Accendo offers an exciting and original rehearsal experience as it is based at the Grey Horse Pub/Ram Jam Club in Kingston, Surrey.Grab a drink from the bar and come and join us singing everything from classical to African music and everything inbetween. Presenting JULIAN SMITH (Britain’s Got Talent finalist 2009) appearing live up close and personal Your chance to get up close and personal with Julian Smith, the saxophonist, along with special guest Hollie Steel, finalists from Britain’s Got Talent 2009. This will be a delightful night of classical pop and soft jazz. This unique opportunity will take place on Saturday 24th July 2010 at 7.00 pm (gates open from 6.00 pm), at the Hillcroft Charity Garden Party in the grounds of Hillcroft College, in Surbiton, Surrey; with only 500 tickets available. Julian has appeared alongside artistes such as Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet), Gwen Dickey (Rose Royce) and Hamish Stuart (Average White Band), as well as performing on national television with Chris Rea, M People and Dina Carroll. He has released three solo albums, and has a new album due for release before August 2010. Bass Guitar and Double Bass Tuition. Ian Davies is a graduate of Basstech at the Guitar Institute in London and also a music degree holder from Chichester University. He has been playing music from an early age and the bass guitar since he was 13 years old. In addition to being an accomplished bass guitarist he also plays the double bass and composes music. Ian is proficient in all styles of music, from jazz to rock and funk to classical. He has been teaching for over 8 years and is available for individuals, small groups, schools and music education work. Based in Chessington Surrey but can drive out to where you are.
