International Horn Soloist – Richard Watkins, to perform new Concerto written by KCO conductor Andy Meyers
Richard Watkins is a concerto soloist and chamber music player. He was Principal Horn of the Philharmonia from 1985 to 1996, a position he relinquished to devote more time to his solo career.
He has appeared as soloist in the Royal Festival Hall, at the Barbican Centre and abroad with conductors such as Carlo Maria Giulini, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Leonard Slatkin, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Andrew Davis and Gennadi Rozhdestvensky.
His recordings include Sir Malcolm Arnold's two Horn Concertos for Conifer, to great critical acclaim, and Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante with the Philharmonia and Giuseppe Sinopoli for Deutsche Grammophon.

The Accendo Singers are Kingston's newset chamber choir, conducted and led by Adam Assen. Accendo offers an exciting and original rehearsal experience as it is based at the Grey Horse Pub/Ram Jam Club in Kingston, Surrey.Grab a drink from the bar and come and join us singing everything from classical to African music and everything inbetween. “Lady and the tramps” is a jazz quartet based in Kingston Upon Thames. Vocalist Noa Alvarez is joined quarterly at the award winning pub “The Canbury Arms” by her band members Marc Rice-Oxley on piano, Tormod Sund on trumpet and Sam Edgington on double bass. It is their second year at this venue, where they perform a mix of jazz standards from traditional American Songbook classics to bossa and latin grooves.
Next dates for your diary are April 22nd and July 15th. Entry is free and booking is advisable as it is a popular event.
