On Sunday 17 September 2017, National Physical Laboratory is opening Bushy House to the public as part of the Open House London weekend. Normally, Bushy House can only be viewed from the beautiful Bushy Park, but this day offers visitors the chance to glimpse inside the house, which dates back to the 1660s. Visitors will have chance to see the rooms and gardens of Bushy House, including historic photos and artefacts, and the descendant of Newton’s apple tree.
The opening of Bushy House is part of the Open House London weekend, London’s largest annual festival of architecture and design. Open House London seeks to open London’s buildings to the public.
Doors will be open from 10 am to 5 pm. Entry is free. Access to Bushy House is via the Queens Road Gate, TW11 0EB (public parking on Dora Jordan Road and Clapperstile car park) and pedestrian access via Canon Road Gate, Bushy Park. Please note that there is very limited access for people with disabilities and no dogs are allowed (with the exception of guide and assistance dogs).
