International Women's Day

12 Years of Kingston Green Radio: International Women’s Day 8th March 2019

Friday 8th March at 6:30 LIVE from the Kingston Environment Centre

This is a panel discussion to mark International Women’s Day. This is a panel of high profile inspiration women from the Borough who are coming to the Kingston Environment Centre to discuss their careers as well as the barriers facing women today.

This is happening on Friday 8th March at 6:30 (International Women’s Day itself) LIVE from the Kingston Environment Centre.

You can listen to the event LIVE from 6:30pm on or watch our livestream on Facebook.  There will also be a very limited number of tickets to this event (again we would like to extend an invitation to anyone from The Independent if this is of interest).

On the panel we have:

  • Siobhan Benita (Politician who is a former and current candidate for Mayor of London in 2012 and 2020, and also a former civil servant who is the Chief Strategy Officer of Warwick University in London).
  • Cllr Liz Green (Liberal Democrat Politician who is the Leader of Kingston Council)
  • Michelle Akintoye BEM (Founder and CEO of BRITAFRIQUE – a not-for-profit organisation that supports and encourages young people in education to become mentors to younger children)
  • Deborah Walls (Executive Headteacher of the Coombe Academy Trust).

The event will be hosted by Kingston Environment Centre’s Jean Vidler MBE.
