St Cecilia's day concert

November 22nd 2025 at 7.30pm at All Saints Church, Kingston KT1 1JP

Tickets are now available for Kingston Choral Society’s Concert for St Cecilia’s Day.

Enjoy an unforgettable evening to mark St Cecilia’s Day – the patron saint of music – with a concert packed full of passion, drama and beauty.

The choir will be singing pieces by Britten, Vaughan Williams and Haydn and will be conducted by Andrew Griffiths, with KCS’s new partner orchestra the Thames Camerata, and distinguished soloists, Anna Devin, Emma Roberts, Nick Pritchard and Jonathan Brown.

A tribute to music as inspiration, praise and a beacon of hope in dark times. Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb is perfect for St Cecilia’s Day in its celebration of music as heavenly praise. Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music pays homage to the ‘father of the Proms’ Sir Henry Wood, who made music accessible to so many, and Haydn’s Paukenmesse is a musical prayer invoking faith and hope during Napoleon’s occupation of his native Austria. Elgar’s Elegy for Strings was written to commemorate deceased members of the Worshipful Company of Musicians.

Soloists:
Soprano: Anna Devin
Mezzo-soprano: Emma Roberts
Tenor: Nick Pritchard
Bass: Jonathan Brown

Thames Camerata
Conductor: Andrew Griffiths
