Kingston Riverside has seen some major development over the last 15 years. Great traditional pubs like the The Row Barge and The Outrigger have disappeared. Much publicised poplar trees were felled on Canbury Gardens and St George’s residential development was built which opened up the riverside to pedestrians for the first time in decades.

The area has blossomed into a vibrant leisure area with some great pubs and restaurants. The Riverside comes into its own in the Summer months when people spill out of the pubs onto the waterfront to enjoy the views. Barges and boats moor up and there is usually some outdoor music or dance performance to enjoy.
