Modern Slavery – closer than you think Lecture 7th April 2025

Modern Slavery - closer than you think

Monday 7th April 7.30pm

Kingston Quaker Centre, Fairfield East, Kingston KT1 2PT

If you think slavery was successfully abolished back in 1833, think again. Modern slavery is now a growing issue, and happens all around us. Yet for most of us it’s invisible.

For SW London Humanists’ Public Lecture, Rebecca Helme, Innovations Manager for Hestia – one of the leading charities helping victims – will help us understand:

  • What modern slavery looks like today.
  • Where it’s happening
  • How Hestia responds and provides support
  • What can we all do.

Everyone is welcome, and there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion. It’s free (though we will ask for donations help cover our costs).
