Soul in the machine Kingston

Soul in the Machine Thursday 20 July, 8pm

St Peter’s Church, London Road, Kingston KT 6QL

An inspirational play about George Williams, YMCA founder. You will be transported to Victorian London, where the young George Williams has come to find his place in the world. Appalled by the conditions that the workers of the time found themselves in, George sought to bring light and peace and a place where the soul could be nurtured.

“We are more than bodies to be fed to a machine. We are made for more than work. We have souls, we have spirits and somewhere in this dead city there must be a place for those things”.

This play is commissioned by YMCA and created by Saltmine Trust. A must for anyone with an interest in social history.
Cost: FREE. Donations welcome.
