Kingston Choral Society Summer Concert : A Purcell Celebration
St Andrew’s Church , Surbiton , Saturday 22 June 2024, 7.30pm
We will be singing a wonderful selection of music by Henry Purcell – considered to be the greatest English composer of the Baroque era. Also, a virtuoso performer, who was appointed as organist of Westminster Abbey at the young age of 20, Purcell enjoyed rock-star status during his lifetime, and was dubbed the “Orpheus Britannicus”.
The evening features four young outstanding soloists and the authentic instruments of the Purcell Players.
