Surbiton Festival – annual early autumn festival in September

This is a vibrant week long festival in Surbiton in Surrey. There are several events throughout the week, leading up to the main Surbiton festival on the Saturday when Victoria Road closes to traffic for the day and the festivities begin.

There is usually music outside the station and stalls cover the high street. A parade starts around noon. (see the Surbiton Festival website for full details. Below is a guide to events from previous years:


Surbiton is a riverside town and this beautiful stretch of the Thames offers great leisure facilities from skiffing to sightseeing passenger boats. Thames Sailing Club open their doors for the day to give people a chance to try sailing or paddle-boarding . This is the UK’s oldest river sailing club and it is situated on Portsmouth Road close to Kingston. See their website for details Thames Sailing Club


Surbiton Photo Circle run a themed photographic competition which results in an exhibition.


In previous years, the Surbiton Festival has a comedy night at the corner House. This is a fantastic small venue where many famous acts come to try out new material and there is always a great line-up for the festival night.
